On the ascent out of Philadelphia last night we flew into an area of rain showers, and the sound of a thousand *thwacks*-a-second commenced as each drop hit the nose at over 250 miles per hour. Almost as quickly, the pounding silenced and I looked up to see all the rain had turned to snow as we climbed through the freezing level where all moisture is solid. Weather is awesome.
